Hello
I am in the process of building a wall for a small cabin. Over an opening, I am thinking of casting a concrete beam on-site instead of buying ready-made lecabalkar. I plan to make the beam 2m long, 20cm high, and 12cm wide. The width of the opening is 120 cm. I intend to reinforce it with two 12mm reinforcement bars at the bottom and two 8mm reinforcement bars at the top.
I plan to mix with a little extra cement, but since it will be home-mixed in a concrete mixer, I don't know what grade the concrete mixture will eventually be.
Does anyone know approximately how much point load such a beam should sustainably withstand?
