When nailing the wall studs to the floor sill, you start with the corners. You plumb and brace. But how do you nail the rest of the studs? Each stud should be plumbed with a long level, but does each stud need to be braced? The wall is 9m long and does not have top plates that reach between the corners. Do you run a string across the top of the corner studs and nail the studs as you go along?

Mark the placement of the studs on the sill and lay the future hammarband alongside to transfer the markings onto them. Then erect the corner posts and the wall studs needed to provide support for the hammarband at the ends and brace them. After that, you can add the rest of the studs without needing to plumb. Then you can place some boards diagonally across the walls here and there, if it's large enough that it's needed, that is.

Alternatively, you can assemble the wall on the slab and raise it afterward.

Thank you jon_h, as I mentioned I don't have a sole plate that, in one piece, reaches between the corners. Do I have to buy a whole piece or do you mean that the sole plate can be sections that are jointed on the wall studs?

Now I don't quite understand, you don't have hammarband that are long enough in one piece, no. But in that case, you have already planned to splice them? That's why I wrote that you set up the corner posts and the intermediate posts needed to provide support, i.e., support at the ends, for the hammarbands.

Wanted to be sure I understood correctly. Thanks.

If you want to make it extra sturdy, place a perforated plate on top over the joint and tighten it.
