Hello!
The previous owner of our house was working on the basement but didn't complete the job. We have a door (the white one) that goes from the basement to the garage. But as it is now, you need a ladder or need to climb to get up to the garage. We simply need a staircase.

And how can we arrange this in the best way? Does anyone have any tips? The space from the door (opens outward to the garage) to the wall is about 105 cm deep and the height is about 115 cm.

Grateful for all tips!

  • Concrete blocks stacked in a basement corner, near a white door leading to a garage. Construction materials and wire mesh are visible.
  • Basement view with an unfinished concrete area, cinder blocks, and a white door leading to the garage. A ladder or stairs is needed for access.
  • Basement space with exposed concrete, a white door leading to the garage, and several gray bricks on the floor. Area appears unfinished and in need of stairs.
  • Basement space with a white door leading to a garage. No stairs, concrete blocks and debris are visible. Door opens outward.
As it is now, it will be a very steep/short staircase, or rather a fixed ladder.

How does it look "further away" from the door where there is a sack and other things?

It would need to demolish a bit of the wall at the shorter end and dig out a longer stretch.

  • Laddar…
Even if it becomes steep, I would say a sturdy staircase is the most important. I would fill it up with foam and cast a staircase.
105cm deep should allow for 5 steps, the first one directly at the door and ending about 20cm below ground level, giving you a staircase with an incline of about 45 degrees. If you want more foot space on the steps, you can create a stair nose.
