We want to renovate our basement stairs and need tips on the best and most cost-effective solution.
So far we have looked at stepkit laminate, but I am concerned about the "broken" steps, one at the bottom and the top two. The one at the bottom becomes very exposed at the break as you most commonly step on the corner.

The idea is that you should be able to walk on the stairs with outdoor shoes since we have a garage in the basement, but not very often.
