I'm a bit keen on putting panels on the walls in the stairwell but I'm encountering the issue that the wall protrudes too much. The house is made of lightweight concrete, and it would require a nail batten of 22mm + the panel of 15mm. That almost removes the entire stringer. I'm considering if it's possible to extend the stringer in a good way without it cracking.
Ideally, one could cut a whole piece per wall that you screw and glue, but is there any way to do it with smaller pieces without it cracking, or is it doomed to fail?
