Stable wooden handrail for balcony?
Hi, we've just ordered a fancy glass railing with large sections of 1.5-1.6 m, and were planning to add a wooden handrail but realize it might become wobbly with such long parts without support. It's attached with a 70x50 flat iron on top of each post, but several joints end up on the posts, so they will only be supported by 35mm at the edge.
Do you think it would be enough with just a wooden handrail of 60-70x40mm, or should we buy one with a machined groove and screw a flat iron along the whole length or something? I just don't want it to sag in the middle if someone leans on it. Are hard woods like mahogany preferable over larch..?

Mahogany should in any case be avoided with regard to the rainforests.
If it were to sag a bit, do you think it would be enough to cut a groove with a circular saw in the handrail and knock in/screw fasten a T-profile of 25x25mm? That should give OK rigidity, or do those also bend over such "large" spans? I'm not sure I would dare to mill a larger profile...
