Hello! I have a house that was built in 1910 with brick walls. Since it's just one layer of brick, the walls aren't very sturdy in my opinion.

My question is, how much does Goldband gypsum plaster strengthen the wall compared to cement-based plaster? Does it have a good binding effect or none at all? Since I have a lot of bags of Goldband, I want to use them in the best way possible.

The gypsum plaster has a nice finish, so if it doesn't have a good stabilizing effect on the brick, maybe I could use cement plaster first and then apply a layer of Goldband?

What is recommended?

If you want to stabilize the wall, it must be reinforced with steel or other reinforcement.

Plaster is beauty-enhancing but has no structural ability whatsoever.
