I watched a building show the other night, some Norwegians renovating a cabin in the mountains where they laid probably painted tongue-and-groove boards as the outer roof, on battens and purlins. With a proper roof underneath, of course, with felt and everything.
But how does it work in the long run? It looked really stylish...
What should one consider when doing that?
 
Called faltak, can usually be tarred. Also available as lockläkt. Larch wood

Aha, ok, thought it was cool.
Have to research it a bit.
 
It is very nice and can be installed by yourself.
