Splice conduit

Anyone have tips on how to splice yellow ground cable conduits (is that what they're called?) properly? The conduit I was going to use from the basement to the garage is almost completely broken

There are connectors for these, even at Byggmax.

Thought they would be tighter, but nothing that can't be sealed with silicone.
