Hello everyone! I am in the process of building a pump house for the pool. The goal is to make it as quiet as possible. Admittedly, it is located behind the garage, but you want to be a bit considerate of the neighbors.
What I've done so far is placed concrete blocks on a well-drained gravel base. Then built a frame around it, so that the frame is not in contact with the concrete blocks. Put raw boards with roofing felt as the roof and am now in the process of installing paneling.
The question is, am I building a speaker? What else can I do to soundproof as effectively as possible? Mineral wool won't be good because it can get wet in there. Polystyrene isn't great for soundproofing, is it?
Exterior gypsum on the inside maybe? How would you have done it?
