Hi, we live in a wooden house about 6m from a moped path that runs directly parallel to the house. The small annoying things are much more disturbing than the few cars that drive on the street. Also, I have to sleep with earplugs because they bring so much noise. Is there anyone here who knows how I can block out the noise? The house was built in 1958 outside Umeå and has sawdust insulation in the walls and 2 glass windows with fabric strips. It’s a naturally ventilated house.
I’ve been thinking about installing double drywall with damping glue towards the road and maybe an extra glass pane or replacing the outer glass in the window with some better laminated glass. Should I also cover the short side of the house, or is the long side closest enough?

Check with the municipality if you can get a grant for the measures.
That was a particularly bad piece of advice, it doesn't decrease the noise one bit, rather the opposite as it becomes brake-accelerate.bobas said:

The risk with flower boxes is that they are seen as fun toys that can be used for things like drifting around.
There were some residents who put flower boxes on a road in a community near me. The Epa tractors were overjoyed with the new slalom course and were there with screeching tires every evening.

Switching to 3 glass windows made an enormous difference in the noise level inside for us.

However, the house now has FTX and since this spring, triple-glazed windows. As Daniel writes above - a big difference! We didn't buy any fancy windows with extra damping, but the difference is about 10dB on paper compared to the old ones. In practice, the noise went from somewhat disturbing to quite silent.
We replaced the windows in the entire house. Noise wasn't the main reason for the window replacement, but a clearly contributing factor. Originally, there were coupled double-glazed windows.

Hehe. Yes, it sounds like it. Yes, I've been thinking about FTX and it's something I would really like to have. We'll see how my partner feels about the investment. But maybe I should replace the moldings along the road with rubber strips and somehow increase the airflow from the opposite side. New windows sound good, but I don't like them as much aesthetically since I think the old windows are very nice. That's why I thought it might be an idea to replace one window pane with one designed for soundproofing. An alternative is to add an extra one if the window frames can handle the weight, as there would be enough space. Then you'd have three panes. Could that work and save money?
