Smart tips for moving 500kg big bag
Hello,
I bought a big bag with 1000kg of river stone and the plan was for the transporter (postnord) to notify me, and then I would be able to choose to be home upon delivery to have it placed nicely by the house wall.
But without any notification, a bag was left in the middle of the driveway, blocking the car.
I've now used half of the bag and the plan was for the other half to be used for other projects later in the fall.
But now half a bag is still in the way.
I'm considering calling and complaining to postnord to have them come and move it (I've paid 900kr for the shipping, but I have low expectations that this would work).
So I'm wondering if anyone has tips on how to move such a bag (it's on a pallet) with things you have at home or can buy cheaply (so not a good suggestion to buy a pallet jack from Jula for 4000
.
I've been considering if a car jack might be used to lift one end of the pallet and try to push everything, but it feels like it won't work. It needs to be moved 5m with a slight uphill slope.

If the surface is smooth, you can try to lift one end of the pallet with a crowbar or similar tool and place some pipes underneath, then simply push and move the pipes as it moves forward.

Lay out two boards in the direction you want to move, lift the end of the pallet and place some dowels underneath... push and move the dowels as you go... Classic old method!
It's asphalt and, as mentioned, slightly uphill, so you don't want it to roll off in the wrong direction, a bit tricky with rollers underneath
Thanks for the tips. I'll see if I might be able to slide it forward by lifting it onto some boards for a bit better glide and use some leverage to lift/push it forward.
Otherwise, I'll have to look for a puller in the local Facebook group or see if some strong neighbors might drag the sack on the asphalt.

Pull the pallet with the car.
Pull the pallet by hand. Place a rope or strap between the pallet and something like a tree. Grab the rope in the middle, exactly between the pallet and the tree. Pull perpendicular to the rope. The pallet will move about half a meter. Tighten the rope and start over.
Roll the pallet on pipes.
Lift the pallet with a trestle. Move the trestle forward, the pallet moves a few decimeters each time you tip the trestle forward.
Pry the pallet forward.
Pull with a ratchet block.
Now I can't come up with any more suggestions...

Can't you borrow a pallet jack from someone? Otherwise, you'll have to get some pipe pieces and try to get them underneath to roll on.
Didn't think Postmord delivered bulk bags. I've always had them dropped off at the designated spot by the supplier's crane truck.

Now it won't help you, but I definitely would have called and complained.
It's not entirely uncommon for the driver to do as they please and not follow the instructions. If the company is serious, they will at least try to ensure it doesn't happen again.

500 kg of stone would have been faster to shovel and carry in a wheelbarrow than to sit at the computer and write a post on byggahus.
Plans and Postnord, one should be cautious of that. I can tell stories about packages that have been at my door, only to take a new trip around the world. Once, I had to wait an additional 5 days. Postnord decided to send the package back to the big city to start over with delivery when I have a postal agent just a stone's throw from where I live.
