Small interior wall

Hello,

a quick question. I am planning to divide a room into two smaller ones by putting up a wall (about 2 meters) in between. I was thinking of using OSB with 6mm renovation plasterboard on it. I also plan to insulate with regular yellow insulation. I want to easily mount shelves and other things without using a lot of molly plugs or similar, hence OSB (or is plywood better?). The wall will be wallpapered with some smooth fabric which will then be painted.

OSB is cheaper than plywood and serves the purpose. But why 6mm gypsum? Buy regular, possibly 900mm if you find handling 13mm 1200mm boards difficult.

The reason was probably to get as thin a wall as possible. But what does 7mm do? They are also cheaper.

Another question. I've cleared the walls of old wallpapers and they peeled off well, so they are quite smooth (a bit of spackling in some places will probably do). However, I wonder what is recommended for vävtapet? As mentioned, I'm going to paint afterward.

Should I paint the current walls first to prevent any bubbles that might appear from older wallpaper behind? Not a big job, not very large rooms. What would you have done?
