Countersunk slotted screw is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing when it comes to visible screws in carpentry etc. And then the slots should align....

Or maybe I'm just nostalgic....

Thanks for the tip, I'll call the screw center and check!

That's still how it looks on classic Swedish furniture, e.g., Bruno Mathson. The alignment is the finishing touch.

At Wegertseder in Germany, you can find just about anything in screws: slotted, round, countersunk, in brass, steel, galvanized,... From what I can see, they have slotted wood screws in your dimensions.

Here, I have bought, among other things, fine slotted brass screws with good results.

It's quite a hassle to get a 6x100 slot screw into anything other than mashed potatoes. There's also a big risk of slipping and putting the screwdriver into the wall or your hand. Alternatively, the entire slot is completely mashed before the screw is properly in the wall.

No, go with something like ESSVE 6x100 :)
This too is an art that requires some practice. Pre-drill, lubricate (ordinary soap), and hand-tighten is the recipe. Certainly not a quick method, but gives the best result.

Thanks for that link! TS can rejoice that they have 6x100 in a 10-pack for 4€

Yes, or TS can buy 300 pieces for just under 2 SEK each. I got many fine brass screws there for the same price as one screw in Sweden, if they are even available here at all. It's a wonderful site!

Fantastic site, big thanks for the help!

Anyone who finds kullerförsänkt? School German is lacking...

Track screw 8X150 felt quite brutal

Hard to imagine what the shelf looks like, but maybe screw pins in the wall and a cap nut might do?

A brass screw with a flat head and single slit, possibly used as a wall anchor or cap nut.

Now I finally got my act together and the shelf is where it should be, thanks for the tip!

It is customary for the track to be in the fiber direction.

I thought the same thing directly :)

Conventionally, the groove should be in the direction of the fiber.

Maybe that's what looks best. But I think TS has come a very long way and above all much further than all the pier barbarians. Nice to see a groove that isn't shredded by a screwdriver. I assume the other screw is parallel. Whether it is across or along the fiber maybe is just the dot!
