I'm working on some home construction and have encountered an angle problem that's made me tired.

I have a sloped ceiling (45 degrees) that continues around a corner (90 degrees). Now I want to install furring strips (28x70) and then put up drywall. I've tried miter sawing the panel so that the boards meet nicely at the corner point, but I just can't get it right.

How should I approach installing furring strips and drywall in such a corner?

Do you have to be so meticulous about sawing the sparse panel? Isn't it going to be covered with plasterboard?

Neither do I understand why you need to saw so precisely if you're going to install plaster.

But if you want it perfect, you can try setting the miter angle at 54.7 degrees and the tilt angle at 60 degrees, and it should turn out well.

Feel free to let me know how it went. :)
