I plan to build something similar to a pergola attached to the house facade on one side and with posts along the side furthest from the facade, like the attached picture (though without fence, etc).
I have planned to build with pressure-treated wood with dimensions of 125x125 mm, both for posts and for beams.
My question is how do I determine the maximum distance between the post row and the facade, i.e., the maximum length of the beam (which is also 125x125 mm)?
I want about four meters, is that possible without the deflection from the dead weight being too large?
I plan to have very little load in the form of slats or the like, no roof.
