Hello,
Is a single-layer rendered façade acceptable? The reason for my question is that we had a masonry company visit us and they suggested this approach (we want to change from wooden gable peaks to render). When I asked more about this, he talked a lot and tried to sketch a bit, but to me, it was all Greek. I want to hear what you think. Has anything happened in this area? Like new methods/materials? When you google single-layer rendered façade, it's quite frightening. I also can't find anything about it still being built this way. At the same time, this is a very reputable company that is a member of the Masonry and Plastering Companies, works with cultural buildings, etc.

On a wooden wall? No, there are no acceptable arguments to ensure good moisture security.S skanfals said:Hello,
Could it be okay with a single-stage plastered facade? The reason for my question is that we had a masonry company with us that suggested just that (we want to go from gable peaks in wood to plaster). When I asked more about this, he talked on and tried to draw a little, but to me, it was pure Greek. I want to hear what you say? Has anything happened in the area? Like new methods/materials? When you google single-stage facades, you get quite scared. I also can't find anything about it still being built that way. Single-stage sealing on wood is a big no-no. Ask any real estate agent. It's a risk construction that will significantly reduce the price of your house, even if you manage to build it without creating a problem.
Do 2-stage sealing according to something like weber's instructions or refrain completely is my advice.

It is approved to use single-stage sealed thick plaster facades. Weber has complete systems with everything from gypsum to insulation and plaster. Not to be confused with those with thin plaster on polystyrene which caused major problems.
In my opinion, polystyrene should only be used underground.
