Hello

I understand that two layers of drywall have a sound-dampening effect. However, I can't find any information regarding the possibility of hanging things. I know that OSB or similar is preferred to increase the ability to hang things, but I'm wondering if two drywall sheets might be a middle ground or at least a bit better in terms of load-bearing capacity...

I've received a price quote of 120,000 SEK for OSB boards in a planned two-story villa of 200m2, and I'm trying to find some cheaper alternatives...

All tips are gladly received :)

Plaster cannot be compared to OSB for hanging things. Double plaster is better than single plaster but it requires anchors as soon as you need to screw something up.
Particleboard is cheaper than OSB and works for screwing up most things.

A bit late in the thread here but if it's soundproofing effect you want, insulate in the interior wall!
Building new myself and I put 70mm insulation plus OSB board + single drywall. Becomes solid and good.
