Today there is a 70s construction of the gable with the brick facade 125 mm outside the wooden panel at the gable peak.
The idea was to move the wooden panel to 5 mm outside the brick facade.
The question is, should I keep the sheet metal on top of the bricks and attach the battens to the old facade battens, or remove the sheet metal and attach the battens down into the brick wall?
It's good if the metal sheet is still there since some water will come behind the panel. Unless the wind barrier also extends beyond the brick facade, then it won't be necessary.
