should you glue between two baseboards?

if the baseboard is in several parts along a wall, should you glue the joints as some do with door frames to prevent the gap from growing over time?

And which glue is best suited for this?

I read comments about the PU wood glue that ran and expanded and was a nightmare if you used too much.

I usually glue when I splice baseboards. I use regular white glue. It usually works fine.

Regular wood glue, also usually miter cut for a nice look.

Yes, I was thinking about mitering earlier and why my ceiling moldings are like that but not the baseboards (sockel), whether it was for convenience or some other reason.

But do you grab the first wood/white glue you find in the store, or do you have a favorite among the brands?
