Hello!

I will soon be plastering the ceiling, how do I handle the short sides with support?
I have cc 30 on the battens and saw a picture where you just screw in a loosely laying batten piece that lies across the short sides. But, doesn't this need to be attached to the longitudinal batten panel?
We will have 2 layers of plaster due to fire rating. The first should run along the battens and the second layer should lie across, doesn't that help to stabilize?

Thanks for the help.

If it is fire-rated, you should always have support under the joints. Download Gyproc’s installation guide, and you will probably find good examples.

Hello! I DON'T think you need a kortling on the first row you lay. But then on the second, you must have one. Even if they are not fire-rated, you should have it because otherwise, there is a risk that the joint compound in the seam might crack. But buy "kortlingsplåt" at a hardware store. They come on a roll. Then cut the piece to about 850 or 1150 depending on which gypsum you are using. Then attach the board to the ceiling, but do not screw too close to the butt joint. Then slide it under the seam. Then just go ahead and secure with screws. But check if you need kortling on the first row too; it might be easier with a short batten piece between the battens.
