I'm going to build a conservatory at the cottage and have surfed around a bit and thought of building according to "skånskabyggvaror" conservatory
The support beam for the rear roof needs to be according to them 42 x 225
The problem is that I'm short on height... Over the patio door there's an absolute MAX of 20cm up to the protruding roof joists so the question is what should I do.. One thought is to shave them down a bit so I can fit in the 225 beam plus channel plastic and some spacing. Anything to consider here, I wonder? Can one actually go down in thickness on the beam?? We're talking about a 330 long rear support beam with a column in each corner and attaching the upper support beam to the wall. Further, the plan is to have 56 x 180 roof joists to the front support beam (cc120) at 90 x 225. Each corner will have a 90x90 column down to the frame standing on a plinth
Another question... how do you handle the connection to the house wall??? Should one perhaps fix some metal fastening there?
