Sheep fence made of granite posts.
I am going to make a sheep pen.
The fence will be a standard sheep fence with wooden posts. Except for 30-40 meters of one short side towards the house. There I want to use granite posts. About 25x25.
Now I'm wondering if it's possible to make something nice with rebar, steel rods (not mesh) there. Like 10mm x 6m and maybe run every other with barbed wire.
The sheep fence I've looked at has 6 horizontal wires. So then I'd like about the same number of rods.
Do you think it's possible to set the posts in place, drill the holes so that everything comes out at roughly the same height (I do have some level differences though) and make it look nice, or should I just attach standard mesh to the posts?
What do you think about the post spacing? I have so that I can dig down about 50 cm of the posts.

If you don't have a job, you can get one... Gifted with a significant number of granite posts (called knektar), I have some experience. Reinforcement steel is too flimsy except in a net, and then 6 m distance is too long. Half is more suitable. You have to attach to the outside of the posts if you want a nice fence.
Hm. Failed to capture the essence of the question....J justusandersson said:If you don't have a job, you can get one... I want to make through-holes that I thread the iron/barbed wire through. About 3-4 meters apart was also my thought.

I wouldn't dare to bet on that construction. Stenstolpar move quite a bit over time.
Barbed wire for sheep and near the house?
I think it's perfectly okay to think one more time...
A farmer nearby has cast posts with through holes for electric wire, they resemble something more German-built in Poland during the 40s, just a bit crooked.
