Serious sanding - Tips and help, please
I'm working on this, just a "heads up."
I have a cold and need to drive down an old "trash circus" from the 40s. The carousel is in a small space in the basement of a multi-family building, about 6 m². It's very cramped...
For some reason, the whole circus is encased, the pipe with about 15 cm thick k50 walls, below about 15 - 60 cm (!) thick walls. Extremely thick reinforcement, 32 is the thickest, so far...
The construction is not load-bearing, according to me, the inspector, or the planning office at least, why are the trash bins atomic-bomb-proof? Anyone know, I'm very curious.
Anyway, using a Metabo KHE 96, horizontally... It's heavy, very heavy. Anyone have a better idea than my rope in the ceiling?
I'll try to be finished by tomorrow, really feel like running out to buy dynamite right now...
Thanks in advance.

zsimpey: A diamond blade of core drilling model would have been gold; unfortunately, I don't have one. The tool assigned to me is a demolition hammer, sigh...
cem77: That sounds likely, or unlikely if you will. It's actually monstrously oversized.
Today, I have demolished and hand-carted about 500kg, not including what I did yesterday. Yet, there's just as much left, ugh...
I have half a gravel pit in my eyes and no feeling in my fingers; dynamite is feeling more and more reasonable...

Excuse me for a silly question, but what is a "sopcirkus" (garbage circus)? Does it have to do with garbage chutes?
//Patrik

Patrik_Hed: Yes, there's a circus/merry-go-round standing below the garbage chute. Normally three to six bags are rotating. Each time someone drops something, it thuds and the merry-go-round spins "one notch." All the bags are thereby intended to fill equally...
The pipe itself is also cast with considerable over-dimensions on everything. Going crazy, really don't want to go to work on Monday. Considering renting a Brokk out of my own pocket just to avoid...

Considering the challenge you have ahead of you and the equipment you describe, it's not possible to find a suitable wording in writing from the Arbetsmiljöverket that due to vibrations, dirty air, enormous resonance, threatened blue tits in the park outside, or white-haired old ladies who can't sleep through the day, will allow you to get out of it.
myrstack: Maybe... It ends up with;
A: I become unemployed.
B: Employee number two takes over (unsupportive, he/they will have the same problems as I do)
C: The boss gets cranky and I get "labeled"
D: I complain but finish the job, that is, I act like an old lady. Complaining about nothing which leads to nothing.
It may be pointed out that it is a small company, lacking financial muscles. That's why I primarily asked for tips to facilitate the process.
OnT; How about drilling a hell of a lot of holes "everywhere" and then go at it with the drill machine? It should weaken the structure, but is it justifiable considering the time it might take?

Quit and start at another demolition company that has resources and sense.
Snail dynamite might work?

However, it doesn't solve the problems with all the reinforcement.
Dronco, for example (other manufacturers have it too), has a blade with diamonds on the outside, allowing you to cut reinforced concrete without wearing it out, it cuts through the iron as well. It might be worth using a 230 mm angle grinder with such a blade and cutting it down to pieces as far as possible. Here it is:
