Hi, does anyone know what this material is called and if it can be purchased by the meter somewhere?
It's the kind that sometimes comes as packing material but is somewhat flexible even though it's quite stiff.
I was thinking of cutting it so it's easy to seal the window when the AC is going to be running and then easy to take down when needed. :)

Thanks in advance everyone!

  • White foam packaging material with grooves and a recycling symbol, used for cushioning or sealing, placed on a desk.
  • Flexible white packing foam suitable for sealing windows, used for air conditioning setup.

Cool, yes it seems like it should be something like that. Now I just have to find somewhere to buy it. You wouldn't happen to know the Swedish name for it? :)

Polyetylenskum maybe? Or something similar.. shouldn't be too hard to find anyway.

After searching around a bit, it feels like a softer variant, I think I've come across that. But this is harder, some kind of packing material perhaps.

Yes, it's a packing material.. try the abbreviation EPE

I believe the stiffness comes largely from gluing together multiple layers..

In addition, I bought a kind of stiffening interlayer to place between the mattresses in my continental bed, maybe that could be something?

I think this was at a sleep store (about ten years ago) but similar should still be available?

Fantastic, thank you so much, I'll see if I can find something like that. :)

You can probably get it at https://www.special-plast.se/
They had a shop on Odengatan 82, Stockholm where you could shop as a private person but I don't know if it still exists.
