Hello

I am seeking advice on how to stabilize the ground surface where paving stones will be laid next to a patio. Under the patio, there is a deep hole, and the problem I have is that over time the paving stones slope as the crushed stone underneath the paving stones sinks into the hole under the patio.

Concrete paving stones next to a wooden deck, with some grass in the foreground and visible gaps between the stones. A view of a wooden deck next to a patio with uneven stones and grass, highlighting the issue of sloping due to sinking stone base. Gravel layer under a wooden deck, showing erosion and subsidence issues due to a cavity beneath, intended for stabilizing paving stones.

Do you have any tips on how to make it more sustainable?

Thanks in advance.

Having a crush with zero fraction under might have been more stable? Maybe it's possible to add the finer fractions afterward and keep the old chips?
Note: Killgissning ;)
