I have a patio with the highest beam 2m above the ground. I need posts for a fence that also extend down to the ground so I can attach the skirting to them and also install a door for access under the patio. The posts (95*95) will be up to 3.6m long, quite lengthy. I've cut notches and attached them to the beam, but they need to be secured lower down to prevent swaying. Considering a beam lower down. Good idea? Don't feel like digging and casting more footings. Can it be done another way?
A wooden deck under construction with long wooden posts, a white ladder, and a chair in a garden area, with a house wall in the background.

You should have joists at an angle to make it steady. They should take compression forces, not tension.
