My eager boss decided to redo the wallpaper in the 60s house and is now down to the floor joists of siporex (don't ask, it was something about the floor creaking and then the demolition enthusiasm took over).

The question now is how to secure new floor joists to the siporex? It's apparently very porous. Glue was a suggestion but it doesn't sound like it will hold. Nail plugs? Some other special plug?

I recall being involved in fastening a piece of plywood or a wood scrap with many air nailer staples in siporex, could that be something?
