The transition strip between the parquet floor and the laminate floor was loose and crooked ever since I moved in. So today I removed it and scraped away the caulk? that was loose under the strip. They have some hard yellow/brown compound at the joint, see pictures, but also white caulk (white spots, see picture below) under the strip itself to attach it there.
Below, I cleaned everything that was loose.
My question is, what type of caulking do I need to attach to seal the transition, but also what type of caulking to glue the transition strip itself?

My question is, what type of sealant do I need to apply there to seal the transition, and also which sealant to use to glue the transition strip itself in place.
