Sealing of pool

Hello.
Anyone here with experience in sealing a concrete pool?
I have built a model sitting pool with concrete blocks and plastered the interior surfaces.
When it rains, water stands up to the sitting surface.
It doesn't rise any higher.
I plan to paint it internally with epoxy paint.
Do I need to seal it with something before, like water glass or something else?
I understand it should be really dry before painting.

What have you polished with and how much? If it needs to be waterproof, several layers are required.

Thank you for the response.
I have mixed cement and fine gravel myself.
Made molds and poured the mixture to create sloping walls.

Now I'm not following. Is it cast or is it built with leca?
