I have built on a 1/2 floor and will soon fill the joist space with loose fill insulation before the chipboards are installed.
Now I'm considering how to seal some gaps and holes that exist (mainly to prevent the loose fill insulation and debris from falling into the walls or onto the lower floor). For example, where the pipes have been installed down to the lower floor, there is about a 1 cm gap around the pipes, another is at the ceiling outlets where there's a narrow gap. I also have some larger holes where I thought of screwing on a piece of OSB to cover.
How would you do it - just some paper and glue and then loose fill on top?
Are there any risks with placing certain materials between the joists?
