Hello,

I have a patio with a concrete floor above a garage. Unfortunately, it drips in the garage when it rains. I think the concrete has joints. It is painted with peeling paint of an unknown type.
My idea is to lay tiles on it next year. But what can I do until then? Seal with some kind of roofing compound? Will tile adhesive stick to it afterward?

Thanks for any tips that come!!

You should use cast asphalt on top of the concrete. It will be tight and last a long time, (decades). However, I don't think it's successful to lay tiles on it. On the other hand, it works well with wooden decking. If you absolutely want tiles on top, you'll probably need a waterproof layer like cast asphalt and then pour something else on top to create a sandwich construction.

What is gjutasfalt and where is it sold?

I would apply a waterproof membrane, the same variant used in bathrooms (sheet), then lay tiles and use a hybrid grout or epoxy, which will give you an almost completely sealed tile surface, and anything that might go through will be stopped by the membrane. But check with the manufacturer to ensure it's okay to use the membrane outdoors.

A late post - or rather a result report after a few years of experience with the work I was tipped about here.
I pressure washed the concrete patio in question and then applied (rolled) it with cold asphalt in three layers.
The first diluted so it really absorbed into the concrete.
Now after 4-5 years, it is still sealed (and dry on the inside).
By summer 2020, there will (maybe) be a 4th layer just to be safe.
Thanks for all the tips and advice.
