Here I have carelessly placed a board in front of a door on the inside. Now I would like to remove the door from the outside and install paneling. Unsure how to handle the vapor barrier, insulation, and everything else. The board is recessed about 10 cm relative to the rest of the wall, so it's quite a large gap. Any tips? Let me know if it was unclearly explained 
A bit difficult since we can't see everything properly. You should probably remove the old frame, it will be easier and better to patch things up then. The basic principle is that plastic is closest to the warm side=inside. You can buy good, but expensive, special green tape to tape with. If possible, tape against the existing plastic. Then add insulation, outside of that a windproof fabric, then some timber so that you create an air gap between the facade and the windproof layer. to attach
