Hello,
I am planning to put up a wall that the previous owner unfortunately removed.

Picture of the area where the wall and door will be placed: http://tinyurl.com/brkgcyg

I was planning to build with wooden studs and now realized that there are metal studs on the adjoining walls. How do I attach the wooden studs to these? I haven't figured out how to attach the ceiling studs yet, so any tips are gratefully received.

You can use a slightly longer screw with finer threading and glue at the same time, usually grips well in metal studs. This assumes you hit a stud though. Hard to see in the picture, but are you going all the way up with the wall or just where you have drawn? Looks like there will be an opening above then, otherwise you could cut the studs at the right angle against the panel in the ceiling and insert a noggin between them, or alternatively, attach a wall plate and screw it to the central beam there.

Thank you for the response. I solved it with mounting screws type SH 4.8x85 (possibly it was a bit shorter). Hitting the metal stud correctly wasn't entirely simple, but it worked in 7 out of 8 cases.

I left it open in the ceiling and put some wood studs on the sides towards the wood panel.
