Screw joist hangers into glulam beam, should you remove the protective plastic first?

As the title states. The whole thing will be outdoors for a while before it ends up under a roof. Does the presence or absence of protective plastic affect the "adhesion" of the hangers to the beam?

I have never seen any joist hanger with protective plastic.
