Screw clips or nail inner ceiling?
I am in the process of installing about 30sqm of beadboard in my living room. I have previously (a few years ago) done something similar with nails, but I have also installed a small wall panel with clips. From what I remember, using clips was convenient, but I've heard mixed opinions about this.
Any tips?
It's quite hard to nail, especially the last few millimeters, so you don't damage the panel...

Hi,
The times I've installed beadboard as a ceiling, I've nailed it with clips. With a good tool, a good hammer, and a patient helper to hold it in place, it goes surprisingly smoothly. I don't find the last row tricky to nail; you probably nail it without clips since it's cut to the desired width. However, it can be tight to fit it in...

Screwed clips to the ceiling. Have screwed panels to the ceiling in the cottage that it works great. No complicated nailing upwards, no misses with marks, etc.
But now I've got a brad nailer so the next panel will be set with that instead.

I like using clips for wall panels, but I'm a bit hesitant to use them on the ceiling after having to stand and nail down a thirty-year-old panel ceiling that had sagged and developed gaps because the clips had bent over time due to the weight of the panels. However, this might be because it was framed a bit too sparsely, approximately one meter between centers = more weight on each clip.
Nailing discreetly without clips - 45 degrees in just above the tongue - works well without damaging the panel if you use a nail driver (like a punch but with a flat tip) for the last part. However, it's a bit more labor-intensive nailing than with clips.
