I am going to screw up ceiling battens (where drywall will be installed later) and I am wondering what type of screw I can/should use.

I have a screw gun, so I am considering using Essve's collated chipboard screws 4.2x55.
Is it sufficient or is it too weak/small head?

You should have a countersunk wood screw where the shiny part of the screw corresponds to the thickness of the glesen.

55 is a bit short. 70 or 75 is more suitable. 3x the thickness of what you are attaching is usually a good start.

Well, I know that the recommendation is 3x the thickness.
Unfortunately, the screw gun can't handle more than 55mm, so that's why I asked.

Unfortunately, it's going to be damn expensive with screws.
With two screws at each attachment point, it will be 1200 screws.
I think it might be leaning towards nailing or a nail gun (a good excuse to buy one)

A 5x70 at each point will suffice. I bought screws from proffsprodukter. They charge 92kr for 200 pieces and usually offer discounts quite often.

It's definitely better to screw than nail. Then there's no risk of glesen starting to sag.

Nail gun with 63mm is good, goes much faster than screwing.
