Hello!
I've been searching for an hour now on Google for scaffolding used when building chimneys.
What I'm looking for is an aluminum scaffold that you build around the chimney, which is adjustable depending on the size of the chimney and the slope of the roof.
Do such scaffolds exist, or do you have to weld one yourself?

I've actually thought about it, but it feels like it will be an expensive affair compared to (if there are any) ready-made scaffolding or a home-welded one.
There must be some company that makes scaffolding for chimney masonry, right?

That's how I usually do it, but they tend to become unstable and quite dangerous actually since they are built quickly and easily... A prefabricated aluminum stand that you just carry up and screw in place would be a dream.peternicklas said:

For a one-off job like that, it is most likely cheaper to hire a scaffolding company than to order a custom-made scaffold that fits just your roof/chimney.Wubbler said:
Yes, that would have been true if it weren't for the fact that I work as a bricklayer. The idea with this scaffolding is that I should be able to use it for 90% of all chimney jobs and not use half-assed scaffolding that you nail together in 30 minutes so you can start working.vojma said:
I've looked around here on byggahus and the wooden scaffolding built looks great, but they often take an entire day to build and that time is not available if it’s going to be profitable. I've been to places where the scaffolding we build consists of a deck that is stacked on bricks lying directly on the roof after some roof tiles have been pushed up and secured with a board with two screws. It's not fun, but the time for something better isn't there as you want to get started.
That's why I'm after a proper aluminum scaffolding. I want to be able to work safely and do a good job for my customers who pay me.

Have never seen anyone use an aluminum scaffolding for that; you have to build one out of wood yourself. Chimneys vary a lot in size and different roof pitches, so I think it's impossible for a pre-made aluminum scaffolding to work. I work as a tinsmith and have been on construction sites where they've had scaffold builders there and still had to build a wooden scaffolding around the chimney.
If you are not afraid to import, you can find it here:

I've sent an inquiry about the price to a company called Euro towers LTD. Let's see what they reply. If the price is good and the shipping cheap, I'll probably go for one of those.MaZtoR said:
Thanks MaZtoR. I hadn't actually thought about importing.
