Hello

We are going to paint three houses in the spring and replace the roof on one of them.

The plots are varied (partly steep) which makes frame scaffolding unsuitable due to inflexibility (usually comes in 2m heights).

Now to the big question...
Buy used scaffolding, such as haki, which can be found at reasonable prices, or build it ourselves from 48mm steel pipes and get pipe fittings that are available for existing scaffolding.

We need about 10m wide, 4-5m high (and at least one section 6m high, 2m wide).

We will use planks 45x195 or 45x220 for the floor and a ladder to get up in the scaffolding.

I have built a little with the Layher/Monzon system, so I have some experience.

Tips, advice, practical experiences wanted.
We do not wish to build in wood (we find it cumbersome).

Kind regards
Rikard

Can't you look for used Burton scaffolding? They can be adjusted nicely.
Or just Haki with the adjustment screws at the bottom. 500mm on the screw and the newer spires that have 4 slots at the same height, so you should be able to achieve the height even if it's a bit uneven.

I bought a framework when I was going to change the roof. Used it for 3 months and when I sold it, I got my money back. Only paid the interest on the money during that time.

I have also bought scaffolding. In your case, I think you should buy enough to cover the largest side you have on the houses. Then it will be sufficient for everything you have and you might not work on more than one side at a time. If you don't want to keep it once you're done, you can just sell it and, just like in hokanp's case, I don't think you'll lose anything on the deal.

Thanks for the input, we will continue discussing different position options.

We have also bought used scaffolding. We've bought 2 different ones, a +8 and a Haki. Both can probably work well on hilly terrain if you have long adjustment screws.

The plan is to sell these in the spring when the house is finished for the same amount they were bought for.

I suspect used scaffolding might be somewhat cheaper now in the fall, so check ads now and buy in the fall if something good comes up. By spring, both the price and availability might increase. I could potentially sell at least one of them now, but I'll wait until spring when I think it will be easier to sell.

PM me if you want to know what I paid for the items and how much it was. But I don't have an exact count of how many items were included, I'll have to "count" them quickly at the construction site, which means you can't get an answer until next week.

I found this company in Gothenburg that seems to have some mixed Haki.
Here's the link if anyone else is searching too.

Decent prices from what I've been able to find on sites like Blocket compared to new scaffolding.

I'm going to borrow 2-3 sections of frame-alu Haki from a painter to see how they appear in reality and if we can do something with these or however it turns out.

Why does it have to be so "difficult" to maintain the houses :)

After much searching and many agonies, I bought a Monzon aluminum scaffold. Not to sell later, but for it to belong to the house. I have a barn and quite a large villa, and now and then you discover something that needs to be fixed. That's when the scaffolding comes out. The biggest fear is standing at an eight-meter height wobbling on a ladder and reaching for that "just a little more so I don't have to move the ladder." Fear two is going to rent, dealing with trailers, and having set times for when everything should be returned... That's why I bought it. I am satisfied with the Monzon. There are certainly other options that have their advantages. But as it stands now, the scaffold is set up and taken down within an hour, what needs fixing is fixed, and then taken down again. It can be within a day. Bought through ställning.se and I am pleased. But as I said, there are other options that are probably just as good.

Now we have finally decided to buy scaffolding instead of renting or borrowing.

Looked at Assco/Plettac at, among others, Fasadställningar, but the prices for used Haki were lower. For home use, the price is partly decisive.

We got used Haki from SS Konsult ( http://www.sskonsultab.se/ ). Picked out what I wanted and got a price for it. Pick-up sticks :)

They have a warehouse in Gothenburg, and you can go there to buy things to complement the scaffolding as well. They exclusively have Haki in stock, but they can occasionally get batches of other things.

Hope this can help others in the same situation as us.

Best regards,
Rikard

Thank you!

Updating the thread a bit.

I've looked online for rental scaffolding for the construction of our 2-story house. Most rental companies charge quite a bit.
So I'm considering buying one instead.

Does anyone know of a place in Södermanland/Mälardalen that sells scaffolding at reasonable prices?
Preferably Haki, but not a requirement.

I'm looking for 4-5 sections, each about 4x5 meters.

Hope this doesn't look like an ad just :)

Hello

I have no knowledge of companies up north in the country, but if you order by ställningshäck, there should be no problem getting it shipped for a reasonable amount.

I have the majority in 3m widths and 1.6m depth, but I've also supplemented with 0.7 en-rörs-Balkar to fit in tight spaces or as step holders on the gable. I also added spiror at both 2m and 1.5m to fit under the eaves.

I went with their financing, although it's quite expensive compared to getting a bank loan or similar, but as we bought a lot of ställning at once, we took that extra cost over time. It's paid off and becomes "ours" by spring.

Sometimes you get lucky and find a used one on blocket, but it's generally rare to find used ställningar in decent condition.

I use 34 or 45*145 for the height between the longitudinal beams as support under decking/boards/floor panels or whatever you have on hand instead of the expensive wood, aluminum, or steel decking for the floors to walk on.

Just notch out a little at the end so you can "fold" it up and it ends up at the top edge of the beam.
For my 0.7m width, I have made my own deck from 2 pieces of 45*145 that are screwed into the outer edges 2*2 tightly over the beams. Approximately 95cm of decking spans the width over the 0.7 width scaffolding.

Just as a tip.

Yes, I don't buy decking.
I was thinking exactly as you wrote, to make my own from the lumber I can get cheaply.
