Cutting asbestos cement sheets - aftercare?

Hello,

I will need to take down and cut a number of eternitplattor on my facade (I will use a protective mask with a P3 filter, suit, boots, and water while cutting).

How should I treat the joints that result?

Are there not asbestos-free replacement tiles?
Then you can saw them and throw away your old ones whole.

Not at all, I would say. It is a homogenous material consisting of cement with asbestos fibers in it.

The safest way should be to use a handsaw and cut underwater, no need for a face mask or a proper mask then. The only post-treatment required is drying.

No, sorry "only" 100 people per year, of those who appear in the National Board of Health and Welfare's cancer registry. Then one can imagine a number who do not appear in the statistics but have had reduced quality of life and illness due to asbestos handling.

I seem to recall that one would score and snap fiber cement boards. Similar to how you do with tiles. Perhaps creates somewhat less dust than sawing.

My dad did NOT cut asbestos sheets in the 50s, he is dead now!
