Today I have a balcony on an extension where there is standing seam metal. I plan to lay a wooden floor to avoid stepping on the metal. I'm thinking of angle-cutting the joists due to the slope before laying the decking so that the floor is level. But my concern is, I want some type of rubber membrane or similar between the joists and the metal to protect the metal. Does anyone have tips on what I can use?

I think this strip is good, I have it myself under the sill in my little stable. And it should be exactly what you need to protect the sheet metal. And it probably costs only a fraction of what the more advanced sill sealings go for.
Tip: Call GS and ask for the supplier, so that way you can find a local retailer.
Another thought, if we're brainstorming: It looks suspiciously like a so-called sleeping pad, just 4 mm thick. Buy one of those at a discount store and cut into strips, and you're all set!
