Hello!

I'm working on reveals for two windows in the bedroom. I've done some insulation on the inside and used roofing felt instead of wind barrier all around. Now I'm wondering if that's a bad choice since I've heard that the felt emits a smell and might even be toxic!?

Roofing felt usually contains asphalt, and asphalt usually contains heavy metals, so I wouldn't want to have it indoors.

Hello
It depends on what you use it for. For example, I placed it under the threshold of our new front door because the concrete underneath is probably damp, and then the paper works as moisture protection for the threshold.
The right product in the right place is probably good. Roofing felt is naturally dense. I think wind papp can breathe a little.
