I'm sitting and searching for a post where Immobil(?) described how to tighten a creaking staircase. If I remember correctly, you simply had to unscrew all the screws from the back side of the riser. Then you would tighten each step with blocks and a crowbar. One person lifts the step, and then another person stands on the back side of the staircase and screws the riser back in. I think there was a picture included in the post.

I don't recall whether this process was done from the top down or from the bottom up. I can't find the post either. Can someone help?...or describe the process again?

Could this be what you're thinking of?

Ah. You are the man. No wonder I couldn't find the post when all the text was in an image. Do you know if it matters whether you start from the top or the bottom? By the way, where is the image from?

I think it's best to start from the top.
