Replace wall-mounted exposed toilet but it doesn't fit.
Hi, the one you ordered has the old Swedish standard. Here is a link to one with the new measurements.
Check the measurement sketch and compare with how the bolts are positioned at your place

ahaaaa. Thank you so much. I'll take it off and check then.kulle said:
But if the one I ordered had the old Swedish measurements, it should reasonably fit a wall-mounted one from the '70s, or were there even more standard measurements to consider? I don't understand why there's a standard if the measurement is going to change anyway.

As far as I understand, there are toilet models with different lateral distances between the bolts (two variants). And there are two different variants of vertical distances between the bolts and the drainpipe.
The toilet you bought apparently had the ability to accommodate both bolt distance variants, with oval holes for the bolts. But you also need a toilet with the right vertical distance between the bolt and the drainpipe.
The one you bought has a distance of 185mm. Others have 100 mm like this one:

Yes, it was the vertical distance that differed by about 4-5 cm.
But as mentioned, there is some misleading information in the advertisement. I find it strange to have standard measurements for everything except one measurement, and then that it cannot be adjusted to fit.

I don't believe in the solution of placing new bolts at a height that fits the chair. There will be very large forces on the bolts.
Wall-hung toilets are normally mounted with a steel fixture in the wall. However, a reinforced wood stud construction (stronger than a normal wall) is also used. The advantage of the steel fixture, apart from its strength, is that it ensures the exact correct distance between the bolts and the drainpipe.

To be completely honest, I didn't remove the whole toilet to measure before ordering. Between screaming children and diaper changes, I ordered the one that was supposed to fit in the same place as the previous toilet. As it was basically stated in Buildor's info about the toilet. The problem was discovered when we removed the old one and tried to attach the new one.D doubleH said:There is quite a bit to read on the subject here on the Byggahus forum.
Search for "wall-hung toilet"
Unfortunately, you have already bought a new one...
What brand/model did you buy (not mentioned in the thread)
What is the cc measurement between the bolts in the wall?
Gustavsberg's new wall-hung toilets have oval holes that should fit both the old and new standard measurement (180 and 230mm)

Suspect that you will have to take the bull by the horns and either get another chair with the right dimensions or tear down and rebuild the wall with a new fixture (maybe not so tempting...)
Regarding the old toilet running and Gustavsberg not having any spare parts.
There are plenty of spare parts for old Gustavsberg toilets - search online for "reservdelar äldre Gustavsberg toalett."
If it runs, it sounds like the bottom valve - in old toilets (before 1982) a "rubber ball" that sits in a "metal fork."
