Hello

I have started renovating a laundry room at home where I removed some walls and combined three previous rooms into one. I am currently a bit stuck regarding what to do with the walls, and I've received some different advice from friends. The issue is that the surfaces are varied in both material and structure. In short

- All walls are originally plastered
- Where walls have been removed, I have plastered myself
- I have also plastered a "corner" to a door opening where there was an end in lightweight concrete
- What I have plastered hasn't turned out well (B-mortar was apparently wrong? and I haven't watered sufficiently on the lightweight concrete behind so they dried terribly fast)
- One room is painted with oil paint, and the surfaces appear to have a panel with fabric underneath (Basically just around/beside a door opening)
- Holes in walls after plugs and other things
- Parts of the walls will be tiled (between new upper cabinets and countertop) so paint etc. must withstand this

A friend (skilled mason) thinks I should remove the plaster I did and redo it with other products. I wonder if I can sand down the peaks etc. and apply something to improve the surface (gypsum plaster/filler etc.). His opinion on this is a firm NO. He has many tips in general, but they seem more complicated than I am comfortable with, perhaps especially if there are simpler methods that could work well.

My thoughts have been about improving what I plastered, among other things with gypsum plaster, and adding a plastic profile in corners. This as they seem to build up quite little and are easy to work with. The problem I see here, however, is how it will adhere to the mixture of plaster and paint, and whether it "forces me" to gypsum plaster the rest of the space to make it uniform. I guess I probably best sand off the paint somehow without damaging the plaster too much regardless of what I plan to do then? And what do I do with the surface that has fabric underneath?

Considerations:
- Would gypsum plaster adhere to my surfaces if I chose it? Would it be possible to tile on it? (Looking at weber gypsum)
- Can cement-based filler be used and become good?
- Does the paint need to be removed, roughened up, washed, primed...

Finally, some pictures

Thank you in advance for your tips
