What should I use for mortar or concrete to fill in the hole on the side here? Previously, there were bricks with regular lime mortar, which someone later poured concrete on, but it cracked and separated from the rest of the stairs.

I am aware that the entire staircase is moving and I will probably need to redo it in about 5 years or so, it’s just a lot of earth and debris behind it and it's not done properly. I just want a solution that will be good enough and look nice in the meantime. Repair mortar? House fix?

  • Damaged corner of a concrete step and adjacent stone wall, with visible gap and debris.
  • Cracked and weathered concrete steps with visible separation and surrounding rubble, a trowel lying nearby, suggesting ongoing repair work.
need to clarify that I don't mean the entire gap left after the bricks, but the hole on the side of the concrete so all the dirt/fill doesn't run out and the steps settle even more!
