The wall of our patio has cracked in the joint between two overlying stone slabs. Water has run down there and caused a crack in the brick beneath (suspect frost shattering).

What material should I use to seal it so that water doesn't run down and cause more damage? The gap is a maximum of a few mm.

  • Crack in the mortar joint between two stone slabs on a garden wall, with visible damage to the bricks beneath, indicating possible frost damage.
  • Cracked joint between two stone slabs on a terrace wall, showing a small gap possibly causing water damage to underlying bricks. Snow visible in the background.
