The chimney sweep's latest visit resulted in a vague disapproval of my stove installation on the old existing chimney flue. It apparently leaked an acceptably small amount (1.7), but since he couldn't/wouldn't/didn't want to see where the incredible volume of smoke was "pouring" from, he still chose to disapprove the installation, and the decision was not open for questioning. Since we have a closet nailed against the chimney for 80 years, he also considered this to be a fire hazard and completely life-threatening. I first considered lining but soon realized that the risk of the chimney sweep having the same views afterwards, if it wasn't completely sealed (no leakage at all), I choose a liner this time.

Does anyone have an idea about the price of different liner qualities? I received a quote of 16000 including labor and one of 16000 plus labor. Assuming a day and 2 guys as usual plus setup, mileage cost, car surcharge, breakfast fee, and other dubious charges = 10000 - ROT. We are talking about a 130-liner, which drives up the price somewhat from 100/110, but there is still a pretty big difference between the two.

The person with the more expensive quote claimed that it's because NSP (apparently manufactured in Sweden) offers a 30-year warranty, while others only offer 10. Is this a potential problem for a stainless steel tube in standard material (I believe it's 316L) and with certificates? Does this justify the cost of this product? Opinions and views wanted.
