How do you renovate stair treads the easiest way? We currently have recessed stair treads where a plastic carpet has been glued in the recess. We would like to have stair treads with a solid wood board (old-fashioned style) instead of a plastic carpet or needlefelt carpet like most people have, but how do you fix this the easiest way? Is there any thin veneer or such that can be glued over the existing plastic carpet or do you have to remove everything old and cut new stair tread boards? Grateful for tips and ideas and suggestions.
