Hello.

I am about to start renovating a small bathroom. Currently, there are wallpapered walls and vinyl flooring, but I am thinking of using tiles and ceramics.

Question 1.
The floor will be torn up and re-insulated. Our townhouse has a crawl space, and I'm a bit unsure of how to insulate within the wooden joists up to the inner floor... maybe battens or short rails with gles + asfaboard + insulation + flooring chipboard?

Question 2.
Do the walls need reinforcement since I'll be tiling? I suspect it's 13mm gypsum from 1968 holding up the wallpaper at the moment... :)

Grateful for ideas....

Best regards

Question 2: It depends on what is behind the plaster. It might be enough if you put another plasterboard on top of the old one to make it stable enough.

My experience with other building constructions in the house is that it's nothing more than flimsy studs.
I'm thinking of plywood and 6mm plasterboard...
Is it too flimsy?
